Novena to St Cajetan, Patron of Job Seekers

A novena is a prayer which is traditionally said to obtain special graces over the space of nine consecutive days, hence the name novena after the Latin word for nine, "novem".

By saying a novena you are putting yourself in a place where miracles may happen and opening yourself to God's Grace by renewing your trust in him on each of the nine days. Nothing complicated is needed, just a quiet moment and a quiet corner where you live, perhaps use a picture of St Cajetan to focus your thoughts (please feel free to use and print any you find on this blog) and light a candle in front of it to symbolise Gods light and the flame of your hope. Take a moment to empty your mind of thoughts and find a peaceful place within, then focus on the grace you need and open your heart to God in prayer.

NB. Always use candles responsibly and never leave them unattended!!!!

  3. Bastiat Fan, faith and perseverance will get you through! Keep praying, applying and sending out those CVs and it will all come together. Perhaps make a vow to St Cajetan that you will do X (eg. give money to charity) when you get the job, and also spread his devotion since it offers hope in the midst of such economic difficulty which effects us all. Also remember that all days with a 7 in them are special to St Cajetan since he died on the 7th of August which is also his feast.

  8. I was also unemployed. I started requesting the intercession of St Cajetano, patron saint of the unemployed and job seekers. I started praying the nine-day novena to St Cajetano, and even before the end of nine days, I got two excellent job offers, both of them so good that it was hard to choose between them!

  10. I am praying this novena for the third time. The first time I prayed for my son and a friends son to get jobs out of college. My friend's son got a job right after I finished, my son is still looking. Humbling as that is, I am determined to keep praying this novena. I had another friend ask me to include her son so here goes nothing. God in his infinite generosity certainly can provide jobs for both.

  28. St. Cajetan is one of the most active saints Ive come to know... I have been in and out of jobs for the past 5 years, and finally discovered St. Cajetan a year ago. Ever since praying to him, he has always provided a job for me. They may not have been the jobs of my desires, but they were of Gods perfect will and timing.
Recently, I prayed to him for a big change... for a breakthrough. A door opened at an awesome job-- and I have no doubt that St. Cajetan was a part of this. It is a job that came to me... I didnt even look for it. He brought it to me, in line with Gods will and timing. I am so grateful for him, because he has always been there for me.
When you pray to St. Cajetan, pray with full trust and faith that he hears you-- because he really does-- and that he takes your prayers to the throne of God. The Lord knows exactly what you need, when you need it, and where. The Lords timing and plans are perfect! At times, we think we know exactly what we want and we want things right away, but thats not how its meant to be. Surrendering our plans, our wants, and needs, and desires, and timings... surrendering them all into the hands of the Lord.... this is where things will start changing in your life. The Lord has a plan for your life--- trust Him. Trust the saints, that they will and are helping you. You may not see it now, but its all a plan for your life. The Lord allows things to happen for a reason-- we may not understand it, but trust Him.

St. Cajetan is real, and is a loyal friend. He will lead you to the right job, or bring the right job to you. Let go, and trust! :)

Thank you St. Cajetan, I am humbled by your goodness... Praise Jesus!

  29. I came across this website in Feb 2014 as I was desparately in search for a new job. Once I found out the St. Cajetan is the patron saint of the unemployed, I started prayin the novena regularly. By the 3rd or 4th day, I started getting job alerts from recruitment companies.

However, since I was specifically looking for a job in the aviation sector, I continued to pray the novena in the hope of getting a call for an interview in my specialised field. My prayers were answered when I received an email on 29 March inviting me for an video interview with Etihad Airways. As luck would have it, I was scheduled to travel to Abu Dhabi on 31 March and therefore requested the HR Dept at Etihad to reschedule my interview.

Today, I attended the interview and I am hopeful that things work out for the good. I encourage all those people looking out for a job to earnestly prayer to St. Cajetan and he will intercede to the Lord Jesus on your behalf so that you obtain suitable employment.

Thank you St. Cajetan. Praise you Jesus!

  32. First, a little background. For the last several years, I have been bullied by my employer. During that time, I applied for several jobs for which I am completely qualified (I'm a teacher). Not once was I called for an interview, despite several personal and professional connections. I have done everything humanly possible ~ professional development, job fairs, resume-building, etc. ~ and recognize that much of this is out of my hands. Last Tuesday (April 29th, 2014), a new position posted, one that would allow me to make a great deal more money, and I immediately applied. In addition, I began praying the novena to St. Cajetan. On Friday - Day FOUR - I was called to interview for the position, which is scheduled for tomorrow! I have continued my novena and will post an update either way. I recognize that ultimately God knows what is best for me...this job, while it seems perfect, may not be right for me and I will accept that. In the meantime, I hope that you will all say a prayer for me.

  33. I prayed this novena about a month ago. Today, after nine months of unemployment, I was offered a job! My prayers go out to all those people who are looking for work, especially those over the age of 50. Pray for patience and positive attitude; the right opportunity will come your way.

  34. My eternal THANK YOU to St. Cajetan to God, and all the patron saints for hearing my prayers. I prayed the novena to St. Cajetan, and to God, and all the patron saints. The power of prayer is proof that if you believe and accept God's decision that you will find what God has in store for you. God's says no because he knows that there is a better job waiting for you. I had applied to numerous job postings. Nobody was calling I began to think I would never find a full time job ever again, when St. Cajetan heard my prayers and asked God to help me. I am so eternally grateful for the opportunity to have been graced with God helping me find my full time employment, and I continue to pray that I am able to exceed my employer's expectations, and not to disappoint St. Cajetan and God for this opportunity set before me.
The power of prayer is real and you must believe. Keep the faith.
Glory be to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen

  36. St. Cajetan I ask for your intercession on behalf of my daughter in her job search for a nursing position. I am praying that she will receive a 2nd interview for a RN nursing residency program, which would provide more training and help her to grow as a nurse so that she can provide the best care possible to those she serves. I place her fully in God's hands and his plan for her life. Thank you, St. Cajetan, for interceding on her behalf.
